LT1 The Terra-Cotta Warriors-Lunch-The Huaqing Hot Spring

Experience the thrill and awe of seeing the individually sculpted faces of thousands of life-sized terra cotta warriors. This army, buried with the first emperor for two millennia, including numerous of horses and chariots, was accidentally discovered by farmers in 1974 when dug well. Huaqing Hot Spring, a magnificent summer residence for Tang emperors.

LT2 The Famen Temple-Lunch-The Qialing Tomb

Famen Temple is a famous Buddhist temple. The world-famous Sheli (shadow bones of Buddha) is still well preserved in the Pagoda of Famen Temple with more than 121 gold and silver wares are unearthed. Qianling is the only one mausoleum for two emperors, in which Emperor Lizhi of Tang Dynasty and the female Emperor Wu Zetian of Dazhou (Li Zhi's wife) was buried together.

LT3 The Shaanxi History Museum-The Big Wild Goose Pogoda-The City Wall-Lunch The Bell Tower

Shaanxi History Museum stands in the south of Xi'an city. Built in traditional Tang architectural style, the museum is a much modernized national history museum in China. It museum treasures more than 370,000 cultural relics, all of which are unearthed in Shaanxi province, including relics made of stone, bone, bronze, terra-cotta, china, jade, gold, silver and also murals, seals, calligraphy and paintings etc. These relics can be traced back from over 1 million years ago to the end of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and they reflect the history and people's life in many aspects from culture, art to science etc.

The Big Wild Goose Pagoda was built in 652 A.D, it is a square pyramid which stands at 64 meters high and seven stories tall. Legend has it that the Temple was built by Emperor Tang Gaozong to honor his mother, Empress Wende. The Temple is also said to have been built to house and protect Buddhist scriptures collected in India by the Chinese monk Xuan Zang.


The ancient city wall is the largest and well-preserved ancient city wall in China. The current wall was built during the Ming Dynasty from 1374 to 1379.


The Bell Tower is situated in the very heart of the city and at the junction of four main streets. There is a huge bell hanging on the roof of the tower which was traditionally used to reporting the time.

EP Song of Unending Sorrow

"The Song of Unending Sorrow" is a poem written by Bai Ju Yi, the famous Tang Dynasty poet. the story tells about the love story of the Tang emperor Xuan Zong and his favourite concubine Lady Yang.the story is well-know among the Chinses for over 1400
years.
The Dancing show is a stage version of the poem,It is performed at the the HuaQing Hot Springs where the real story happened in the Tang Dynasty( 618AD to 907AD).The stage is on the water of the Nine Dragon Pool.

PR1: Beijing - Guilin - Xian (6days)

May 12 (Wed.), Arrival in Beijing and check-in hotel on your own. Free time for the rest of the day.

13 (Thu.), An exciting day begins with a stroll along the ancient promenades of one of the world great wonders, the Great Wall. Later, visit the legendary Ming Tombs, resting place of 13 emperors. Overnight in Beijing.

14 (Fri.), After breakfast, visit the Temple of Heaven, a magnificent complex of building where Chinese emperors performed rites and rituals seeking heavenly blessings, then go to the Tiananmen Square, and the Forbidden City. In the afternoon, go to the tranquil Summer Palace. Overnight in Beijing.

15 (Sat.), Beijing-Guilin. Tour to the Reed Flute Cave filled with unusual stalactite and stalagmite formations. Overnight in Guilin.

16 (Sun.), Cruise down the Li River on a deluxe boat meandering between mist-wrapped jutting peaks to the charming country town of Yangshuo. Return to Guilin in the afternoon. Overnight in Guilin.

17 (Mon.), Guilin-Xian. The tour ends.

Post-conference Tours (PT)


PT1: Xian-Shanghai (4days) cancelled

May 21 (Fri.), Fly to Shanghai in the evening, and check-in at the hotel.

May 22 (Sat.), In the morning, fly to Taizhou, and take bus to Sanmen for technical visit. After lunch, take a bus to Taizhou, and then take flight back to Shanghai.

May 23 (Sun.), You have half day to explore the World Expo in Shanghai. After lunch, visit the Yu Yuan Garden, a relaxed walk along the world famous NanJing Road and the Jade Buddha Temple. Overnight in Shanghai.

May 24 (Mon.), After breakfast, the tour ends.

PT2: Xian-Jiuzhaigou-Huanglong National Park-Chengdu (4days) cancelled

May 22 (Sat.), Xi'an-Jiuzhaigou. You have half day to take a rest on your own. Check in at the hotel in Jiuzhaigou.

May 23 (Sun.), After breakfast, visit Juzhaigou Valley National Park, which is noted by the UN as one of the greatest natural legacies in the world. Jiuzhaigou is located in the Nanping county of Aba province which lies 450 kilomiles away from Chengdu, you will enjoy a colorful and magnificent view. Overnight in Jiuzhaigou.

May 24 (Mon.), Half day visit to Huanglong National Park, which is situated in the north-west of Sichuan Province, the Huanglong valley is made up of snow-capped peaks and the easternmost of all the Chinese glaciers. In addition to its mountain landscape, diverse forest ecosystems can be found, as well as spectacular limestone formations, waterfalls and hot springs. The area also has a population of endangered animals. In the afternoon, go to Chengdu by bus. Overnight in Chengdu.

May 25 (Tue.), Visit Gold-sand cultural ruins Museum in the morning. "Jinsha" is the Sichuan migrant workers in the excavation site when the wind Garden Street, first discovered in 3000 after being dormant for uncovered "a wake up shaking the next". The cleared site up to more than a thousand pieces of precious cultural relics, which includs more than 30 pieces of gold, jade and bronze in the 400 pieces of stone 170, more than 40 pieces of ivory, ivory unearthed from the total weight of nearly a ton, in addition to a large number of pottery were unearthed. After lunch, the tour ends.

May 24 (Mon.), After breakfast, visit the impressive Tiananmen Square, the heart of Beijing. Then go to the Forbidden City. Tour the tranquil Summer Palace and enjoy a boat ride on Lake Kunming in the afternoon. Overnight in Beijing.
