Two Technical Tours for all interested attendees, which will be included in the two Post-Conference Tour routes. More detailed information will be coming soon.

1. China Experimental Fast Reactor, China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE)

China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) is the birthplace of China nuclear science and technology and the important base for nuclear science and technology implementing pioneering, basic and comprehensive studies. It has a staff of 3400, including 660 senior scientists and senior engineers. CIAE is equipped with 3 research reactors (15kMW heavy water reactor, 3.5 MW light water swimming pool reactor, 27kW neutron source reactor), 4 zero-power facilities, 11 accelerators, hot cells and associated various instruments and compoters.

May 22 (Sat.), Xian-Beijing. After arrival, take bus to China Institute of Atomic Energy for technical visit. Overnight in Beijing.

May 23 (Sun.), After breakfast, the tour ends.

2. Sanmen NPP AP1000, Zhejiang Province

Sanmen Nuclear Power Plant is located at the Sanmen county, Zhengjiang province, in the eastern coastal areas of China. It is 171 kilometers south of the provincial capital Hangzhou, 341 kilometers south of Shanghai.

Sanmen Nuclear Power Project will adopt WEC AP1000 technology for its construction by Westinghouse Electric Co. & Shaw Group Inc. Consortium. It is planning to build 6 AP1000 nuclear power units at the total power of 7,500MW, constructed by three phases. Phase I started constraction on April 19, 2009, and the 2 units of it will be completed and begin to generate electricity in 2013 and 2014 successively. Thereinto, unit 1 is the first AP1000 nuclear power unit all over the world.

May 21 (Fri.), Fly to Shanghai in the evening, and check-in at the hotel.

May 22 (Sat.), In the morning, fly to Taizhou, and take bus to Sanmen for technical visit. After lunch, take a bus to Taizhou, then fly back to Shanghai, the tour ends.

1. The tour fee includes inter-city transportation, regular meals, one night hotel accommodation and an English-speaking tour guide service fee.
2. Please arrange the continuing flight from the tour end city by yourself.
3. If no roommate name is indicated, your room will be arranged as a single occupancy during the technical tour.
4. The Secretariat will reserve the right to raise the prices or cancel any of the above tour routes, if attendees are fewer than 10 persons. In that case, the notification will be sent to you as soon as possible, and the tour fee will be fully refunded.
